And the day before the adventure. And a day in which much rain along with thunder and lightning was forecast.
With yesterday's early start and galivanting around, we had an altogether more relaxed start to the day today.
That and it was raining.
Not hard. Not drizzle. Just good rain to soak into the soil. All the windows in the house were open, and the sound of the rain was wonderful, as was the Petrichor filling the house.
After first breakfast, the rain stopped, and for a while the sun came out and looked rather pleasant. But as I was planning on having a shower so had failed to put any trousers on, the neighbours might have complained about me in the garden in just t shirt and shreddies.I made bacon butties mid morning, ensuring the bacon was golden and crispy. Before having the shower I promised.
We had been listening to the radio all morning, and the music so good that it was hard to drag myself upstairs. So it was half midday by the time I went up tot eh bathroom to make myself presentable and sweet smelling.
It got cloudy. Then darker and darker, and finally a storm sprung up off the coast, and for 15 minutes lightning flashed, thunder crashed, and the rain came down harder than ever.
The storm raged as we ate Caprese mid-afternoon, then the rain continued as we retired to the sofa to watch the second stage of Le Tour.
