Monday 12th May 2014

Sunday.

And the wind continued to blow.

And so there would be no more orchid shots through the weekend.. Oh well. Better have some coffee and bacon butties. The world always seems better with bacon.

Wild garlic at Waldershare

After bacon and more coffee, we headed out to Waldershare to look at some garlic. Yes, garlic. Wild garlic, Ramsons, grows, er, wild in Waldershare wood, and in other woods too, but it is a sight to see, being denser than bluebells, and the plants having tiny flowers which given their numbers end up looking like snow under the trees.

We drive up to Waldershare, park near the church and walk through the graveyard, down the path beyond in into the wood. Already we could smell the garlic, indeed there was more of it in the churchyard in the wood beside the main road. We walk down the path, hemmed in on both sides by the garlic, and each time we trod on a plant, the smell of garlic filled the air.

Due to the wind, any attempt at macro was impossible, so we headed back to the car and then home for more coffee and lunch. In the afternoon I did an hours work whilst waiting for the last round of PL games to start, and barring an unlikely 17-0 win for Norwich, or relegation would be confirmed.

As fitting an awful season, we lost 2-0 and end up some three points from safety and are relegated, which we deserve. I cook steak and ale pie as Citeh are crowned champions, and so the season is over for another year, and it is just 80 days until we start our new season in the Championship.
