Summer arrived.
It's hot.
Damn hot.
Jools left for work leaving me here with the cats, I open all windows and doors to get a breeze before the temperatures really start to rise.
Work is quiet. I wouldn't say I'm up to date, but on top of things, made easier with most of the company on holiday.
The cats find places cool and dark to sleep, which is something we should also do, to be honest.
The day progresses with another meeting, and then peters out by half two, so I retire to the sofa with Scully to watch the final two hours of Le Tour, with the Alps saving their hardest slopes for the final two days of regular racing, it was all quite interesting, and riders hammering along at a heck of a pace.
Not much else to report, no pictures taken during the day, except of the emergence of the flying ants in the back garden, a scene repeated all over southern England all on the same day.
I take a shot and a video, then go back to work.
But pictures for the day is reserved for the evening, with us meeting our friend John and his wife in Worth to buy them dinner in a way of thanks for the trip to Svalbard last year, and now the India trip next year.
We drove through Walmer and Deal, past the funfair on Walmser Green, all lights on but few customers seen as we zoom past.
Out through Sholden and into Worth, parking by the village pond and walking along the Hollyhock lined path to the St Crispin Inn where we had a table booked.
We talked of India and life in general until our meals arrived: good sized burgers and fries, and for me pints of ice cold Guinness.
The pub was welcoming and busy on a Thursday night, which is good to see.
Jools drove us home once we had paid, back through Deal and home, just as dusk fell.
A good end to the day.
