COVID update

On the face of it, all good news.

Infections down to under 100,000 daily now, in fact on Sunday was 70,000.

Hospitalisations seemed to have peaked and are also beginning to fall.

Deaths have not yet peaked, but that is expected.

And yet, is it good news?

Testing data has slumped, so with fewer tests being carried out fewer positives are being recorded.

Also, the reduction in isolation rules means that there could be more of a surge in infections coming up, but if there was, would we see it without the data?

And the removal of the PCR test means the country loses the ability to track new variants.

I really hope this is the end of the pestilence, but, we cannot know for sure.
