Monday 7th April 2014

Sunday.

Living near the coast and up on the cliffs means, at certain times, we are subject to a little extra weather from time to time. And on occasion, this extra weather might take the form of wind, snow or fog. Or all three. It has been known.

And so on Sunday we got a stiff breeze, heavy drizzle and fog. Or thick mist. Not sure at which point mist becomes fog, or fog ceases to be fogg but is misty, but there you have it. And we had all three for most of the day. Which meant that I only ventured out to snap the scene from the back door, and to put bird/badger food outside.

Who stole spring?

I did a session on the cross trainer before breakfast, and then watched MOTD and City were every bit as dreadful as it sounded on the radio. But more of that in the next blog.

And that is pretty much the rest of the day. Listening to football, eating cheesecake, cooking Sunday roast and watching documentaries on ice age mummies and the black death in London.

I made the cheesecake on Friday, and the highlight of Saturday and Sunday was when it was time to have a slice. Baked vanilla cheesecake is wonderful, I make it with about 30% less sugar than the recipe says as we like it that way, and with double the vanilla.

The roast was wonderful; beef and all the trimmings. Although less than we used to have, and we left a potato each too. So the badgers had something extra for supper.

and that was your weekend, apart from some late breaking football news, which I shall cover in my next blog......
