Sunday 3rd January 2016

Saturday

I suppose it would have been good to wake up full of beans and do something with the day. But I guess with the time of year, the lack of sunlight making us all feel lethargic, we laid in bed until after seven, then I realise that there was some shopping to do. So, rather than wait to have coffee, I get dressed and grab the shopping bags and go to the car for the short drive to Tesco.

The roads were quiet, as was Tesco; we needed little so I rattle round getting stuff for the week, mainly fruit and veg, before dashing to the checkout so I could get back home. And once back home and the shopping put away, we have croissants and coffee.

The BBC assured us that rain was on the way, so we decided to have no plans, other than to sit around the house doing stuff, mainly listening to Danny Baker on the radio. And in this way the morning passed quickly by.

Beef sub for lunch, then with the football beginning, Jools went upstairs to do her hobby, while I listened to the radio. Later in the afternoon, City took on Southampton, and ran out 1-0 winners, climbing to 14th on 23 points, and we are all happy with that. Liverpool slumped to a 2-0 defeat at West Ham.

Jacket spuds for dinner, then we set about planning our trip to Japan. Dates to leave and return, 5 or 6 destinations within Japan itself, then supplying details for the airline tickets. Just have to see if we can confirm it all by the end of this week. My gosh, this is so exciting, that we could be going to Japan in 5 months. Wowzers.

Outside the rain hammered down, just as forecasted, we stayed inside, nice and toasty warm.
