Second week of the Heritage Weekend, and a much less hectic one this week, with just the one place to visit, at nearby Walmer.
So we had time to have a relaxing coffee before going to Tesco and then to Preston to the butcher to get something special for our wedding anniversary this week.
On the way, a mad Merc driver was hammering down the road to Nash, doing 40 to 50, and not on his side of the road, clattered into our wing mirror, and luckily the force did not make it slam into the door window, but the fairing did come off, so we had to go back to collect it, and thankfully not only were we not injured, the car just had scuffs.
We get some steak from the butcher, then drive back home for breakfast and unpacking before leaving at half eleven for the short drive along the coast road to Deal, then through more back roads to yet another House of Worship in what is clearly the most Godliest town in Kent.
Sadly, the Convent is closing down, and being turned into a convalescence home, and many of the fixtures and fittings have already been removed, including in the chapel, which used to be the Billiard Room when the house was first built.
It was wood panneled, though there was no pictures, no clutter on the shelves, just a shadow where the cross used to hang, even that has gone now.
It was like any institution, had a certain smell, and footsteps echoed down the corridors, and occasionaly there was pale elderly face looking out. Their lives are about to change forever, having to move from the only home they've had as an adult.
All residents will leave at the beginning of next month, and building work will commence.
I get the shots and accept very diluted squash, but decline half a buttered scone, then walk back to the car and drove home.
Jools dropped me off, so she could go swimming, and I could listen to the football.
Norwich won again, though not convincing, 1-0 at home to Stoke, but Man Utd lost at home to Brighton.
So, ha ha.
More football through the evening on the telebox, and so another fine day drew to an end
