The thing is

So, the UK is to delay incoming goods checks at least until next summer for fear of the inflationary effects.

This is the reality of taking back control.

Control so damaging, it too expensive to enact, so relying on the honesty of the EU and it suppliers.

I mean, what could possibly go wrong?

Oh yeah, BSE.

The UK left the EU because it couldn't get all the opt outs it wanted, now complains about the opt ins it can't get either. The UK left so it so it would be treated as a third country, and now complains that it is being treated as a third country.

The new Labour Government is trying to "make Brexit work", but trying to separate the freedom of movement (of labour, ironically), cannot be spearated from the other three freedoms. It just depends on how badly you want that freedom.

The UK was offered "touring" visas for musicians, but Johnson rejected it, and now Labour suggested them, the EU rejected them.

Same with youth movement for the under 30s. I mean, who would have thought that restricting freedom of movement for EU nationals would have consequences for UK citizens? Only those who understood how such international agreements work, and not jOhnson who wanted a deal done as quickly as possible, on on detail, was as thin as gruel.

Still waiting for the honest discussion the country needs to have on the EU, immigration and the effections of both and Brexit on the economy And meanwhile, France have appointed Micheal Barnier as Prime Minister for the sole purpose of annoying Brexiteers. Which seems to have worked.
