End of day 1

So, endeth the first day of the Supreme Court hearing on Miller 2.

The morning was taken with the Miller side's pleas, and the afternoon given to the Government side.

It could go either way, and I'm not going to call it either way.

But the damning statement came at the end of the day: when pressed why more than seven days was needed, the only reply was that if was conference season.

And the important point being that a recess is the decision of Parliament, prorogation a decision of the PM. All indications were that Parliament was going to reduce the days for conference, to allow for scrutiny of the Government's no deal plans.

That's my view, could be wrong, of course.

Day 2 tomorrow. Obviously.

Meanwhile Brexiteers and the Brexit-supporting press have been complaining how the UK and the PM was embarrassed yesterday by the might that is Luxembourg.

Get used to it, suckers.

It is good that the rage broke, and not mere diplomatic language was used, but Johnson's lies and bullshit called out for what it is.
