Sunday 8th October 2023

And so, the good news is next year's Pyramidal orchid has shown itself, with the emergence of its wintergreen rosette. It will get a little larger, then wait for spring before putting up a spike and flowering at the beginning of June.

Two hundred and eighty one Sunday was spent lollygagging around. I didn't get up until half eight, by which time half the day had gone.

We had coffee, then breakfast and another coffee, before considering what to do with the day.

It was another very warm day, but unlike the previous day, little wind, making it feel much warmer.

We did gardening n the morning, the last tidying up before autumn really strikes. I trimmed the lavender out front, taking all the dead flower stalks off, and clearing some of the pavement so people can still walk by.

We had the remainder of the upsidedown cake and custard for lunch, and then it was all eyes down for an afternoon of football as the over-hyped PL rushed towards the next international break.

Second game was Arse v Citeh, a game that failed to live up to the "super Sunday" hype, but Arsenal did score a late winner.

By which time it was already getting dark, and the weekend was nearly done.

So, I joined a new social media site, after having spent nearly a year on Mastodon, I really have failed to make it work, so a friend sent a code to join Bluesky, and it seems to be quite like what Twitter was a year ago before Musk ruined it.
