Lawless

No one in this kingdom should be above the law.

But some are.

All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.

When, as a country, we decide which laws we will, or the Government, will consider abiding by, then the country is lost.

And that is where we are, the Governments three top legal advisors have abandoned their sworn oath to the law in return for short-term political gain. And at some point, Baverman and Buckland will have to return to the lagal profession and look their colleagues in the eye knowing when it came down to it, they let the law down.

A Government either obeys the law, or doesn't. In the same way you can't be slighly pregnant, you can't slightly break the law.

All opressive and fascist regimes started with a small step. Once that step is taken, the next one is easier.

Johnson, writing in the Torygraph says that opting out of Human Rights is next in his sights. We warned this would happen, project fear we were told.

And yet there it is.

In order to return migrants. But there will be no arrangements with France or other countries to return them to, it is all meaningless bluster.

Same as it always was, and will always be with Johnson.

Meanwhile the Express leads with Johnson claiming he will see justice truly done. This by a man and Government that has slashed spending on Justice by 40%, seen courts, including Crown Courts, close up and down the land. Before COVID, cases were taking two weeks to come to trial, if they ever did. There is no courts, no staff, no money for true Justice, but mealy words make for cheap headlines.

Justice Secretary?Lord Chancellor has not resigned, despite taking an oath to protect the Law. Instead he said: "he would resign if the UK ended up breaking international law "in a way I find unacceptable".

Breaking the Law, or passing legislation to bypass other laws is not acceptable. Another Minister stating at the Dispatch Box that international law will be breached if the law passed is not enough, apparently.

The country is lost. All who voted for Johnson knew what he was like, and voted for him anyway.
