Testing times

Over the weekend, those in London wishing to have a COVID test were offered the option of driving to either Dundee or Inverness. Ten or ten and a half hour drives.

Each way.

Later, even that option was lost.

The ten most hig risk areas in the country from spikes in cases all had zero available slots for COVID testing.

It was suggested by the Health Secretary that it was people taking un-neccessary test, and has hinted that testing could be rationed going forward.

This is with a second wave coming. I mean they've only had seven months to get testing, the most basic of tools, up to capacity.

And have failed.

Children who show symptoms of cold or flu or have a loss of smell or taste, cannot return to school until they have a negative test.

Only they can't get a test.

Meanwhile, the Ebbsfleet testing centre in Kent has closed so it can be converted into a lorry park for Brexit.

You really cannot make this shit up.

But there you have it.

Seven months in, not enough capcity for testing, no track or trace, and hundreds of millions of pounds spent on uselless PPE.

But look at those brown people in that raft!
