At this time of the year, dawn leaps forwad with each day, sometimes it catches you unawares. And some days its much later than you would imagine, having had several beers the day before, and then two glasses of wine once home, sleep would be long and deep. I hoped.
I did wake up at dawn, and again a while later, waking up with it being light. Half six I thought. The phone said it was ten past eight.
Ten past eight, that's almost lunchtime!
The plan, as it was, was to relax.
So we relaxed.
It was bright out, might be good to go for a walk, but then we had done about 14,000 steps on Saturday and my legs were making it clear a rest was fine with them.
We had breakfast of fruit, then coffee, then bacon butties and another brew.
Phew, it was nearly ten!
Norwich were on the tellybox at midday, so was getting ready for that, when a caravan parked outside the house. A campervan, even. It was our friends, Gary and Julie, who had picked it up on Friday, and were getting used to driving it around, and buying stuff to fill its nooks and crannies. They have plans to travel all over the country, with Gary snapping nature.
Which sounds a fine plan.
They left, so I scampered into the house, turned on the computer and logged on to the game, twenty minutes had already passed, and with the very next move, Sunderland scored the only goal, though they deserved more. Norwich huffed and puffed, but got what they deserved.
There were two more games, Arsen sweeping aside Fulham, 3-0, so predictable, that I did some vacuuming during the second half, so secure were the Gooners. Then Newcastle beat Wolves 2-1, and that's the day done, really.
We had pizza for supper. Pizza and beer, then I beat Jools at crib.
And that was the weekend.
