Monday 8th June 2020

Life moves fast at times.

Jools has worked all through the pandemic, and it seemed that the company was through it in good shape, but Thursday it was mooted that some might be furloughed.

So far, so good.

Jools had mentioned that she would be OK with that, as our money problems are mostly behind us, and we could cope with Jools earning just 80% or her normal wage.

When she returned to work on Monday, that possibility became more firm.

Initially she would be off work for three weeks, but time will tell if that is longer.

Firm news would come on Tuesday.

That, we were no expecting.

But before we get to there, we had to get through Monday.

Monday means back to work, and back on the phys, doing double sessions on the cross trainer, trying to be healthy and so on.

We do our best.

And what with Denmark having had a holiday on Friday, there was much to catch up on.

Once work began at half seven, but before then there was phys. Sigh.

I do well, do twenty minutes without really getting out of breath. As outside it is cool, if not cold, as the early morning drizzle and mist took the edge off the day. Jools had to go for a walk in her rain coat, and once back, change socks and shoes into something drier.

One hundred and sixty And then, make breakfast, another coffee and begin work.

Meetings, calls and the usual stuff. And listening to radio or a podcast or two.

The day dd not warm up, and sitting at the table meant I soon got cold, and I turned the heating on.

Brrrrr.

It would take a couple of hours for the house to warm up, but it did become warm.

Meanwhile, outside the rain stopped, and into the afternoon, clouds cleared and the sun came out.

By then it was too cool to go for a walk, so I went for a second session on the cross trainer, as the afternoon turned into evening.

I cook fish cakes, new potatoes and asparagus for dinner. Like and summary.

I open a box of Shiraz to celebrate.

Wine!

And that was your day, really.

Mot much else to report; music, writing and coffee.

And another early night at nine, or just past.
