Just a reminder......

Just a reminder to all that in regards to Brexit, there can be no agreement on anything, especially trade, until there is a withdrawal agreement (WA). In order to have that, there has to be legally watertight solutions to three items, all of which you know:

1. Financial settlement
2. Citizen's rights
3. Irish border

And without satisfaction but Ireland and the EU 27 on points 1, 2 and 3, there can be nothing else.

So when May says that the WA is 95% done, and the missing 5% is the Irish Border. And without that there can be nothing else, not even the WA let along trade agreements.

So, when the PM calls her cabinet together to discuss a deal (the WA) and that all papers ail to mention the solution to the Irish Border issue, then it is not really a big deal. Make no mistake, that getting her Cabinet to agree to whatever her solution is, is one thing, but getting Ireland the the EU27 to agree to it too is another.

Yesterday a "plan" for the next two weeks in trying to sell a "deal" to the electorate and industry was leaked and disowned by Number 10.

As to what is true and what is smoke and mirrors, who really knows. What counts is that there is just 142 days left to March 29th, and that is the thing that matters more than anything.

And tomorrow, the UK Government is appealing on a decision to refer the question whether A50 can be revoked by the UK to the UCJ, so that Parliament will not know the extent of the powers it has regarding Brexit, says all you need to know. What could they be frightened of?
