Leading Europe once again

Brexit and this Government have brought the country many things, but the latest is really the cherry at the top of the tree.

On Thursday, the UK recorded more positive COVID tests than all of the EU27 for the first time since the pandemic began.

This despite being an actual island and having three week's notice after the outbreak in Italy, having a viable pandemic response plan (that Singapore followed, but the UK didn't) and being able to close its borders to European and global travellers.

But didn't.

The Delta variant was allowed in, and allowed to spread until is quickly became the dominant variant here.

Now, the Government is thinking to allow the virus to flow freely through the child population, despite not knowing the effect of "long" COVID on children.

So, herd immunity for our future generations, that and a ruined education and an international future snatched away from them too.

I hope I am so wrong about this, but it feels like a very bad idea.
