'I cannot understand why the government would opt to do herd immunity by infection when they could do herd immunity by vaccination. I think it's criminal.' So said Helen Sailisbury from Independent Sage this evening on the news that the full unlocking would go ahead as expected next Monday.

Todays figures have daily positive tests up to over 34,000, with a 28% increase as a rolling seven day average. On course for 100k a day by Bank Holiday Monday at the end of August.

Shameful doesn't even cover it.

Cases are rising all over Europe, but with the Netherlands announcing today that recent unlocking was being reversed as infections in the young and unvaccinated rocket.

We could have had this under control, the economy fully unlocked months ago, had the Government took the right actions. But they chose not to.

And now this.

I have no words.

This is not freedom. This is the certain start of the third wave of COVID.

Common Sense did not work last May, and will not work now. Look at the actions of fans at Wembley yesterday and in Leicester Square.

The Government has given up and is laying foundations to blame us.
