The party of destruction

The modern Conservative Party stands against everything it has previously stood for, up to now.

The once self-proclaimed party of business now says “fuck business”. Is forcing a hard or no deal Brexit on business, and although the Government has done little preparation or mitigation, is more than willing to blame same businesses for having their head in the sand regarding the end of the transition period. The party will never recover from this alone, how can business leaders, the CBI even Union leaders trust anything the Tories say ever again?

The once party of law and order now wants to be able for itself to break any law it sees fit, and that bill has mostly passed through Parliament. And already, Ministers have used COVID as an excuse to bypass Parliament entirely, ruling by decree like the tinpot dictator and King of the World Johnson apparently wants to be. The rule of law is a line that no liberal Government should ever cross, once that line is stepped over, much more illiberal acts will surely follow. Johnson is a mere warm up act for who will follow.

And finally, the official name of the Tories is the Conservative and Union Party, and its actions these last five years will bring about the break up of the Union of the United Kingdom. Already, 56% of Scots say they want to leave, a hard or no deal Brexit will only strengthen that. And what if Westminster rides roughshod over the Act of Union, what point is the Union then? Northern Ireland is already half out of the UK, and I have started to use the tern Britain for the rump of the UK left outside the EU SM for goods on January 1st. It will be a small step for NI citizens to decide to reunite with Eire and another part of the UK will have gone.

And now it seems, that with Church of England Bishops speaking out against the morals of the IMB, some Tories are suggesting that the whole church itself be de-established. Some kind of anti-Henry VIII act.

This happens and we are no longer surprised, as we have seen so much madness, what is another course?

And on top of everything else, there is Brexit, which will wreck most parts of the economy and society, make most of us poorer, except those hedge fund managers who bet against the UK and will make a killing, literally.
