Tuesday 20th October 2020

Two years ago we arrived home from New York, Boston, the Catskills and the Adirondacks. Tis time last year we were on a trip into the Louisiana swamps looking for gatos, hogs and racoons. We saw all three, before hiring a car and driving to Houston.

But not this year, this year is different. We have the time and money to travel, and we can't travel. So, we are home; me working and Jools on holiday, the only difference between furlough and vacation is that she can't be called back into work with 24 hours notice. They could try I suppose.

But here we are, at home, with cats and kittens. And it is a work day.

So, in order to try to get some order into our lives, we have set the alarm for half five, so to have time to feed the cats, drink coffee and do a session on the cross trainer before I have to work.

Which is what we do.

My thighs ache from the session on Monday, and Jools said hers did too, but we both did session, then had showers and then made breakfast and another coffee.

All ready for work at eight, which was nice.

And so to work, getting to grips with mails and meetings and the usual stuff that makes up my working day.

Jools went to Tesco to pick up a few things that we needed. Like potatoes and onions.

Two hundred and ninety four I man the fort and the kittens are on watch, keeping an eye on me making sure I don't do anything suspicious like trying to stroke them, in which case they will move out of the way. They do, however, know when I'm heading to the kitty kibble tin in order to brbe them to let me stroke them.

Speaking of kittens, Cleo has not let us a present in the house for over a week now, and the cleaning and air freshner have worked, and it smells like a house agin. A house filled with hyper-clean cats and kittens. They no longer us the back room as their safe place, for Poppy she likes to sleep on the big bed, beside Jool's when we go to bed. Cleo sleeps anywhere, sometimes even beside me, in which case i can stroke ehr then, I'm just alseep.

Common Frog Rana temporaria We have more of the home made loaf for lunch, which is also nice.

And it is back to work for me, as Jools plants more stuff in the garden, clears out those plants that have grown too large, and spread more manure.

Afternoon comes to an end, we watch Only Connect and The Sky at Night. Jools falls asleep ten minutes into the Sky at nIght, which was expected.

Violet And then onto dinner, which was courgette fritters. Which were wonderful as usual. And there was wine.

THe evening was taken with watching Norwich on TV. City played Birmingham. It was a good game, though Norwich did everything but score, peppering the goal with shots. Only to nick it with four minutes to go, with a goal from Super Mario.

Up to eighth.

23 shots, one goal.
