"I am here."
For many months now, UK water companies have been pumping untreated sewerage into rivers, lakes and the sea. For reasons.
In most cases these practices are against the law, but the Environment Agency has little bite, and in most cases the companies have to report themselves.
This, combined with the worst drought since 1976 means water levels are very low, with some, espeically in southern England dry, or only flowing because of water plant's outfalls.
It is in the shadow of these events that the polio virus has been found in 9 (nine) locations in and around London, and some autorities are recommending children get boosters.
This is in the UK in the third decade of the 21st century.
As there is little rain, there is no flood events that need to be flushed away, its just the companies can do this because its cost effective and there are no real consequences for them doing it.
Rivers, lakes are dead or dying, algea blooms are filling some our most pictureque and popular locations, like the River Wye and Lake Windermere.
There was a possibility that Brexit would interrupt the supply of chemicals used in water treatments, is that the case here?
All I know is that this Government and the water industry, and in some cases, our farmers, are killing our water systems, depleting aquifers.
All this on top of Brexit, war in Europe, the cost of living crisis, collapse of the legal system, an the Government assault on our rights and our ability to question their actions.
