The hot mic

Former Chancellor and second favourite to become new Tory Leader, Rishi Sunak, was caught on video in Tunbridge Wells boasting how as Chancellor, he had diverted funds from deprived northern towns to ones like Tunbridge Wells.

This prooves the lie that is levelling up.

Sunak has tried to explain this, saying it was taken out of contex, but there can be no contex where this would be acceptable. Tunbridge Wells is the most affluent town in Kent, that it needs Government funds except for pork-barrelling is nonsense.

Former Prime Minister, Jim Hacker, found out about not treating mics as being live, and Sunak has as well. Although the Tory's supporters in the press are avoiding mentioning this too much, maybe it doesn't cut through to the public, then again more use Twitter and of social media where the clips has been shared millions of times. And this coming from a man whose wife is a multi-millionaire with strong business interest in Russia that it has benver become clear if those links were broken or not earlier this year, depsite all UK businesses had to sever theirs.

With the Prime Minister and current Chancellor both on holiday, and the Foreign Secretary is doing little other than campaigning to be leader, the country is drifting towards the sharpest recession since the 1970s, with little or nothing proposed how to make life affordable for over 5.5 million households this winter.

Sunak and Truss are trying to outdo each other in the most cruel and heartless policies, while the issues that most concern the rest of us are ignored.

God help us all.
