This is the Brexit Deal you are looking for

It seems this week there was a concerted effort on behalf of the government to come out with a similar message, and that message being:

"Brexit is Brexit, and we will make a success of it"

I heard this in at least three different news items, once spoken by Darth May herself prior to the "brainstorming" session she arranged on Wednesday with her cabinet as to where Brexit goes from here.

But of course, Darth May is not a Sith Lord, and the EU is strong in the Force, so her Jedi Mind tricks might work on the Dailies Express, Telegraph and Mail, but in the real world, no.

So, the outcome of the brainstorming session is that Britain wants tariff free acess to the Simgle Market and control on immigration. Just how much of each depends on how possible our position is. There is a world of difference between being a Member of the Single Market and access to it; all countries in the world have access to the Single Market, but being a member of means accepting the free movement of goods, capitol, services and labour. See where the issue there is. In short, Britain wants a bespoke deal, not the Greenland or Noway model, and so that will take longer to agree on, if it is possible at all.

Dart May also said that she alone can decide when Article 50 is enacted and does not need an act of Parliament, a second referendum or election. But all people, even Prime Ministers have to obey the rule of law, and the Law Courts will rule on her Royal Privilege in October. And it also seems that as being a member of the Single Market was in the Conservative Party Manifesto prior to the 2015 election, if she were to push through a law that did the opposite, the House of Lords could, but adhering to the Salisbury Convention, vote against it.

And then there is the old problems: Northern Ireland, Scotland, free movement, The City of London, The Immigration Centre in Calais, Europol, job losses, the pound crashing, the stock market crashing, not enough immigration for the NHS, care homes or farming to function. And all these European ex-pats come over here, work, pay their taxes, making the country richer. Bastards.

In short saying the same thing over and over again will not make it happen, or even more likely. It just shows that there really still isn't a plan and May and her cabinet are still making it up as she goes along.
