Trumped

In truth, there are a million things I could say about the US election, some may even be right. But depite all the things he said and did, and said and did, then boasted about what he said and did, tens of millions of Americans voted for him anyway.

The once consultation I suppose is that HRC won the popular vote, but in the US system, where just a handful of States decide the election, it didn't mean much.

The world's hope is that contrary to what appeared during the election, Trump will reveal himself to be a great leader, and truly a President for all Americans.

It is those ordinary Americans, Black, Hispanic, Muslim, Gay and the other minorities that will bear the full force of redneck culture that will feel emboldened to carry of more racist behaviour. Scare stories@ You only have to see the spike in hate crimes in the UK post June 23rd, and you will see that it is more likely to happen in the US.

I am not religious, so I'm not going to say I am going to pray that this will not happen in the US, but I am wishing it won't.

As for the rest of us? Well, like Brexit the thing that has protected Britain from the worst of it so far has been reality, and maybe that will be the case with Trump. Easy to say that the wall will be built and the Mexicans will pay for it, but what if they refuse? And the logistics of it are incredible, can it really be done? Probably not. Could the State persicute whole demigraphics? Not without trampling on their Constituational rights, and we see how dear most Republicans feel about Constitutional rights. So, who knows.

Maybe not as bad as it could be, but then, not that good either.

Finally, how did he do it? Like again with Brexit, the media, press and main TV channels not questioning deeply enough promises and claims that were made, letting Trump and the Brexiteers getting away with lying until it seemed the truth. Or just accepting it anyway, like it was true.

Trump will do a few easy things first, to make it seem like he knows what he is doing, but then, he really will be stumped. Maybe he is already, hiding under the duvet wondering what to do next, or Googling "what does a president do?"
