Don't try to smear Brexit

So screamed the banner headline on the front page of the Sunday Express.

"Legal threat as MPs warn Russia report mustn't be used to undermine referendum".

Report must not be used to derail Brexit, the papers continues to gibber.

I mean, Brexit is a huge steaming fetid turd two hundred stories high, it would be very difficult to make it seem worse than it actually is.

Brexit has already happened, UK has left the EU, the referendum has been executed, the question now remains (!) as to how far the illegal activity went. We know of the financial chicanery, misuse of data, the lies, damned lies told. And now the final question, as to whether Russia helped to leak data, pay for ads on social media, and how much Vote Leave knew.

Most of Vote Leave went on to serve in May's Cabinet, and are now in power under Johnson who was also with Vote Leave.

As soon as news the report was going to be published, Raab suggested Labour had also received similar help from Russia. The media camped outside Corbyn's house again. Classic whataboutery there from Cummings, Johnson and Raab, and the media doing their job in chasing an invisible bone.

This is all about how our democracy was subverted in 2016 and 2017, that Johnson has fought so hard to keep it secret shows what it might contain. But I think Cabinet will try to redact large parts of it.

We shall see. We have had so many false dawns that hope has gone for normality or sensible politics to return. Someone telling the truth would be nice.
