Hope for the best, prepare for the worse

The title of the blog is the "plan" by Boris Johnson for the further loosening of society and preparing for a possible second wave.

He might as well pray for world peace and that Jesus love us all.

Johnson, like Trump, has given up. Given up on thinking about the virus and having to make hard choices. Instead he has handed most of it to local authorities to decide and act, I'm sure its about time Johnson had another holiday.

Let's be clear about this; there is no plan, no mitigation, just close your eyes and hope for the best, while central Government absolves itself of any responsibility. Back to work? Employers decide. Parks close? Local authorities decide. Figures on actual number of people being tested per day has been with-held since the middle of May, as it showed how poor the Government testing was. There is still no working track and trace system, and local authorities have not been getting accurate infection figures. The R rate is at or above 1.0 in all English regions. Most daily deaths from the virus are English. There had been 10 days with no Scottish fatalities.

What is Scotland doing that England isn't? Well, taking the virus seriously, and keeping lockdown until data says otherwise.

Making promises for audiences to go back to gigs, fans at football matches and normality "by Christmas" will look pretty dumb if they don't happen, but then broken promises are Johnson's speciality, from Brexit to wedding vows. Serial liar.

This morning, Raab tried to row back a bit saying all decisions will be backed by science and studying of facts, but we all know what we heard Johnson say last night, and now we know the delay to the lockdown was against the advice of SAGE, and members of SAGE are already sounding alarm about this latest speech.
