Sevington church must have been so out of the way, hardly anyone from outside the village could've known it was even there.
Then came the railways, and the nearby village of Ashford expanded and expanded.
Come the 21st century, and Ashford and the A2060 stopped within a quarter mile of the church.
Two years ago, the new Junction 10A for the M20 meant that heavy traffic now passes within yards of the once quiet church.
Yesterday Ashford Council was informed the Government had purchased a large area next to the junction 10A roundabout and from Monday morning, work would start in building a massive freight clearance facility in the remaining open ground surrounding the church.
It will be a very different place.
And yet, this, or something like it was bound to have to be built. Most surprising this is that work is to start less than 5 months before it is needed. Mind you, when you think who is in Government, maybe not that surprised.
Remember, this is the facility that Johnson, even after signing the WA and PD said would not be needed.
Project Fear they screamed.
Another away win for reality there, just playing with Team Brexit, as always.
