Your festive Brexit

Nigel Farrage tried to show how patrioti he was yesterday, by posting a shot of him watching the Queen's speech from his bachelor kitchenette. In an interview published on Christmas Eve he revealed he believed the only reason he had not been knighted was his support for Brexit. What is funnier is that instead of enobelling the Brexiteer, the Queen made Nick Clegg, arch remainer, one instead. That is royal level trolling from Her Maj there.

Free speech is OK, apparently only when you say things that the Government want you to. Seems that the Education Minister is thinking about putting a freedom of speech into law, and taking away their classification as universities if the law is broken. Coming a couple of months after a Minister wrote to every University asking for details of Brexit supporting tutors and their course material. Nothing to worry about that, I'm sure. All free speech is is equal, but some free speech is more equal than others. Apparently.

And finally, a Freedom of Information (FoI) request from a year ago shows that DD's department clearly preparing impact assessments, so the question remains did DD lie when he said that the 58 impact assessments had been done in great detail, but then had to reveal they did not exist after all. Or did he say they did not exist at all because either they were badly done, worse than what was released, or that the effects on all flavours of Brexit so toxic, it was easier to pretend to have no done them and be branded an idiot. In DD's case, that's not much of a stretch, obvs.

Brexit news a little thin on the ground at the moment, but rest assured, this will only get crazier and more frantic in the New Year.
