Welcome to 2018

Welcome to 2018, one and all. It is just after one in the afternoon on Monday, and outside it is raining so hard from clouds so dark, it feels like dusk. As it is a Bank Holiday, there is wall to wall football on, and as I write this I am NOT listening to Brighton v Bournemouth, as other than fans of those two clubs, really, who is interested? That and the fact there is four more hours of football following on, so it seems you can have to much of a good thing. But clearly that does not apply to orchids, churches, trains, bikes, guitars or whatever your passion is.

We have just watch the New Year Concert from Vienna, waltzing our way into the New Year, as it should be.

It is the last day of the Christmas holiday, for those of us that have them. Jools still has one more day off, but for me, back to the grindstone tomorrow with me needing to complete a new document.

2017 brings two ten year anniversaries, both a few days apart; our tenth wedding anniversary and before that, the tenth anniversary of this blog. We have all come a long way since that first post. I know some HTML for a start. In those ten years we have been married, been on honeymoon, resigned a job, done a survey in Kazakhstan, my employer going bust, working for minimum wage in the box factory, and the delights of the wind industry with VWS and beyond.

I think this year will bring change, but what change and how much we will have to wait and see.

Otherwise, the future is an unknown country, and the thrill is the way it unfolds.

Thanks to each an every one of you that has read just one post or been there since the start. It means the world to think you are there.
