In denial

There is a real problem in the media regarding telling two sides of a story, but when there is just the one side to tell.

This allows a false narrative to be told, now when that is regarding the economy, jobs, exports and so on, is one thing. But when it is about COVID and the platforming of lockdown deniers literally puts hundreds and thousands of lives at risk, pretending there is science that says something opposite of the way Government policy is being nudged.

Toby Young is a right wing Conservative columnist, who was behind the "free school" disaster that ended up costing million. He now runs a lockdown deniers website, where flat-earthers and the such can tell each other lies. If this wasn't bad enough, the BBC has hom on reguarly.

Last year he wrote, Tweeted and was interviewed saying, over and over, that COVID was on the run and we should reopen the economy and there was no evidence of a second wave coming.

It might not be a total coincidence that yesterday he deleted most of his tweets from last year.

This week he was on Newsnight, and Emily Mattis did call him out, and faced with the facts of a screenshot of his tweet, he did say that he'd hold his hand up and say he got that wrong.

But he wants masking to be stopped and shops, bars and restaurants to reopen.

Its people like this that will make people doubt the vaccine and reduce take up.

But why give airtime to someone who not only is wrong, but is dangerous?

For the sake of balance?

So the BBC can't be accused of bias?

On facts?

The new Chairman of the BBC said this week tat programs like Question Time had too many remainers on in the past, not giving a fair refelction of the nation's point of view. This is a show that has had Nigel on nearly 30 times and helped legitimise a way out policy that in time took over the Conservative Party.

Anyway, Murdoch is starting a UK version of Fox News, not called that, but with the same agenda.

So, nothing to worry about, then.....
