Leading the world

The UK is a world leader, in per-capita deaths, than any other country in the world.

It is shocking, shocking that even now, the Government is congratulating itself on what a job it has done, and has never appologised for the legion of mistakes it has made.

The UK's only plan now is for vaccination, and hope that stops the virus, as pretty much everything else has been given up on, and is no longer mentions.

Despite "Operation Moonshot" currently have had £32 billion, that's billion pounds, spent on it, and it still fails to track and trace to any effect.

Without that, and stopping infections in the first place, this nightmare will go on an one.

Yesterday, 18th January, there were 37, 535 new cases, meaning that in the previous seve days, the total was 314,980. And deaths, using the UK Government's narrow metric, 599, with the last seven day total at 7,900. However, in the last seven days there have been 3,950,604 tests carried out.

So far, there have been 4,062,501 forst vaccinations carried out, but only 452,301 scond vaccinations, and these figures are showing the whole of the UK, with some areas, like lOndon, where figures are very low indeed, even for the over 80s.

The real test will be if all of the three point six million people who have had their intial jab get the second within the, now extended, twelve week limit. I know I sound negative, but when you have recoded the endless rank Incompetence of the May and Johnson administrations, you might understand my caution.

Make no mistake, them not fucking this up is our only hope of a return to something close to normal before the autumn, maybe longer.
