Brexit Break

We are off on our travels tomorrow, which will mean no blogs until the 21st at least.

And for that time, i will try to stay away from news outlets to stop thinking about Brexit. Not that I don't care, but I have been spending quite a bit of my time thinking about Brexit and its repercussions for 27 months now, and writing about it of course.

And I am worn out, worn out by the madness of it all.

But the end is coming, for good or bad, and the EU's patience is wearing out, and now would rather it was all over and not being dragged on for years and years. One thing that the UK fails to realise is that Brexit is not all what the EU is working on now, it is just a part of a range of issues, from Russia, Turkey, US policy, IT security and so on. Brexit diverts resources from those things, and drains all who come into contact with it.

The EU is as prepared as it can be now, certainly better than the EU. If its gonna happen, let it.

Meanwhile the Conservative Party is still fighting with itself, it might look like May won out yesterday, but it just a temporary thing, as the backstop position on the Irish Border has to be legally agreed and put in stone before anything else is agreed. Failure on the border means failure on everything.

There is no time for preparation of no deal Brexit, a decade would not be enough, but not 6 months.

And pain is coming. Huge pain. And recriminations. Remember who to blame.

Naughty Nigel will say it is everyone's fault other than his, as they pursued the "wrong sort" of Brexit, and he would have had it done so easy. Which is a lie. Of course. He gets 30 grand a MONTH for his radio shows, on top of his £100,000 salary from the EU which will be a £70 grand a year pension. He's alright. Just remember than when the UK resembled "The Road".
