Up at half four to be ready for wheels at quarter past five, then a short drive to the nearest gate to be first in once again.
We live in hope of a grande finale, but I'll cut to the chase: no tigers or leopards seen today.
There were rumours of one, or two.
With it being cool and overcast first thing, we had hoped this would bode well. But there were hints that a female and cub might be in this thicket, and after hanging around an hour, she nor the cub came out.
Our reservation ran out at nine, so we had to leave, heading back to the hotel where I slept for two hours.
Then lunch.
Curry buffet.
Another session track from Curry Buffet after the news!
Then back in the jeeps at half two for the long trip to the furthest gate, by which time the sun had come out and it was hot, 35 degrees.
And around and round we went.
Again.
The male tiger we "knew" was there, slept on, and a final bit of excitement when we found Sloth Bear tracks failed to provide us with the animal itself.
We ended the day at a watering hole we hoped the tiger would come to drink, but didn't in the end. What we did do was watch various birds drinking or catching flies, including two fabulous Paradise Flycatchers, their long white plumage tracing the bird's flight path.
So, that's it.Smashed it!
Just to get back to the hotel safe and sound. Easier said than done after the excitement of Saturday.
And day turned to dusk turned to night. It was exciting along the road to the town, then mad on the backstreets until we got to the main road. Then hell. Just glad to get back home, secure that we won't have to do that again. The main road at night, that is. Into the room to begin packing, just half an hour before dinner, amazing where the time goes. But we have a lay in to seven in the morning!
