Sunday 26th February 2017

As is usual on the day before a week away, I am minded to do as little as possible, and do it at home. Anyway, the weather was cool, cloudy and with the real promise of gales in the afternoon, it did not feel like I was missing out on any decent photography, or scenes to be captured.

As is usual, there is football to be watched, bacon butties to be made, brews to be drunk, which brought us to ten in the morning. Plan was to make chili, to have for dinner and stock up the freezer with. I have a simple recipe: two onions, pound and a half of mince, two tins of chopped tomatoes, two tins of kidney beans, two bottles of beer, sprinkle of bisto powder to thicken, and several shakes of both cayenne and chili pepper powder. And in tow hours, a pan full of chili, which ferments through the afternoon. Warm back up for dinner, boil some rice, open a beer. And bingo!

Fifty six So that takes up the morning, and after cheese and crackers for lunch, there is rugby on TV, England v Italy, which should have been one way traffic. Only, Italy came up with a great spoiling tactic, and England were flummoxed, losing 10-5 at the half, but then dealing with the situation in the 2nd to win easily. There was also the small matter of the East Anglian Derby, Norwich v Ipswich. Not on the radio, not on free to air TV, nor could I find a live stream on the internet. So I follow via Twitter and a betting site: City dominate, creating 24 chances, and Town create just two, but score from one. City do draw level, but is two more points lost. Oh well. Season almost over I suppose.

We watch more Taboo through the day, three I think, and pretty good, if mad, it is too. Jools has been told not to watch any more until I come home on Thursday, she did not say she would follow through on that.

The chili is good, not too spicy, but spicy enough.

And with the wind howling, rain hammering down, the weekend drew to a close, and on the morrow, I travel. Again
