Further Brexit updates

Two things to bring you before I jet off tomorrow.

1. This afternoon, HMRC announced that it would staying either in or closely aligned with the EU VAT arrangements, which, if you have been following is a main pillar of frictionless trade. It also appears that it is the Government's plan to stay in something close to a Customs Union, which leaves the question of the SM.

But then,

2. The Withdrawal Bill will return to the COmmons on June 12th where the Government intends to deal with it is a 12 hour session. There are 15 HoL ammendments to deal with, and a whole load of angry Tory MPs to head off, dealing with it in this way seems to be a deliberate provocation.

We shall see.
