Back to school

Next week, children go back to school for the autumn term after their summer holidays.

All mask and socal distancing mandates are to be dropped, as will requirements to inform parents if their child came into contact with a child who has since tested positive. There is talks of ventilation tests, all that could have been done over summer and rolled out before next week. Once again, rather than be just behind the curve, Johnson and co have yet to draw the curve and are arguing what colour to draw the curve.

Today, there were 38,281 new infections recorded, a 7 day rolling day increase of 11.1%. 818 people were admitted to hospital, an increase of 8.2%, and there were 140 deaths, an increase of 14.2%.

We haven't reached the 100,000 infections predicted, but the track and trace app has been turned down, and people who have been in close contact but have been vaccinated don't have to isolate. These are all gambles the Government is willing to take with our health and the health of our children.

I don't have any predictions of what is to come, its now pretty much set in stone where we'll end up, its just a case of finding out.

I wish you all well, and take care out there. Don't think it's over, not quite yet.
