Pingdemic is over, but

We were told that the shortages seen in supermarkets and of delivery drivers, and of care home staff and of fruit and vegetable pickers was due to the track and trace app having the wrong settings.

Three weeks later and there are still shortages, with the food and drink association still wrning of the near collapse of supply chains.

Almost like the pandemic and rising infections rates wasn't the cause after all.

In COVID infecton rates, hospitalisation rates and deaths are all rising, but at low levels, but still at ten times the rate they were last year when restrictions were much stricter.

Jools and I talked yesterday of an autumn break, and whether we "felt" we needed to get away. It would be nice, and maybe even safe to rent a cottage somewhere in the west country next month. But, on the whole, we are happy enough. We get out at weekend and when we can other times too, so we don't feel we have to get away. So, we probably won't, but understand those who do.

I still have about two and a half weeks to take, so might well go somewhere. Or not.

Let us all be careful and see this war out, safe and sound.
