Saturday 4th November 2023

It is hard to imagine that it could rain any harder or for longer than it did on Thursday, but it seems Saturday had other ideas.

We went to Tesco first thing, and it was already raining and blustery, but as the day progressed, it got wetter and windier.

Jools went into town to meet with Ang, but only just got back due to standing water on the roads, later, the A2 was closed because of flooding, and as darkness fell, the rain began to fall in earnest, and did until well after bedtime.

The A2 still flooded this morning.

So, we stayed in, I did some cooking, and for entertainment we scattered some catnip around.

Three hundred and eight I made a fresh batch of ragu, which took the best part of the middle of the day, some four hours. And there wasn't any football to watch, other than Celtic, so instead I followed Man Utd's progress, sealed with an injury time winner at Craven Cottage.

Return of the rain The to settle on the sofa with Scully to follow the main batch of games, listen to the radio and follow the videprinter on Final Score via the telebox.

Outside the rain fell ever harder as the day turned to night, even coming close to drowning out the soul and funk on the wireless.

And it was still raining when we headed to bed at nine.
