From March 11th to 14th, there was the Liverpool v Athleico Madrid game, a quarter of a million people attended the Cheltenham Festival, and several thousand young people attended a Stereophonics concert in Cardiff.
Those who were infected that week are those who will be in ICUs in the next week or so.
In other words, the rise in cases and deaths are as a result of the Government's failed herd immunity policy. But that changes of policy was so late in the crisis, it might have little real effect as the virus is out in the population.
That the deaths we see now were avoidable is not in question. Should we be asking those questions now? Yes, for sure. The same people who got that wrong are still in Government or SPADs now. We were promised ten thousand tests a day; we got less than seven. Of all the tens of thousands of NHS staff on the front line, just 2,000 of them have been tested. In total!
This is a national scandal.
Soon, we will all know someone who is seriously ill or has died from the virus. We must not forget that Johnson and co had two months warning this was coming. Two months to prepare, to source PPE and equipment. And they did nothing.
Heck, when they did change tack, pubs and bars were given 24 hours warning they were to close, so people could get in a few last rounds in with their friends and family. Many would have been infected already, passing round their deadly gift.
All avoidable.
And Johnson is nowhere to be seen. Just a video from his office and one from the doorstep on Number 10, clapping those he allowed to become collateral damage.
We should be revolting.
