The cost of stupidity

The UK Government has paid the Government of Rwanda £240m, that;s £149m last year, and another £100m a few weeks back, with a further £50m to be paid next year for the Rwanda immigation scheme, without a single immigrant being sent there, and very little chance of any ever being sent.

This Government, and Conservative Governments in general, seem to have no qualms about spending huge sums of public money on their har-brained schemes, or giving kickbacks to their friends and backers, but baulk at spending money on actual poor people or public services.

In fact the poor and public services should have their spending and benefits cut so more tax cuts can be given to the rich, in the name of trickle down economics, which is a lie.

£12b of PPE that either was not delivered, or was substandard, has been written off or is being destroyed, something that the then chancellor, now PM was only too happy to do.

Spend £250m on a floating prison for 300 people?

Sure.

Even if it would have been much cheaper to send thos 300 asylum seekers on a 12 month, first class cruise.
