Thursday 7th December 2023

And so, it begins.

Christmas.

Our first card arrived today, from next door, so I suppose we had better get our act together and write and then post ours.

Three hundred and forty one Other than that, it was a normal Thursday, with added light rain.

I had left my walking shoes outside because they were muddy, then forgot about them, but the rain was only light early on, so I got them in to dry out.

In truth, not much to tell of the day, it was pretty much the same as Wednesday, which was the same as Tuesday. With cats and sun or rain.

For work, there were meetings. The monthly department meeting, in which members of the team from India told how the flooded from the typhoon had flooded Chennai, and that most are marooned in their flats, just one shop open, not much electricity or fresh water. And yet they come to work.

We Europeans talk about the weather all the time, and yet we rarely get extreme weather, life life would stop. Folks just get on with it, and make light of their situation.

Outs everything in perspective, really.

I don't go out for a walk either, the weather had closed in and was pretty grim. Not actual flooding, of course.

And so dinner was drefosted ragu with fresh pasta and home made garlic and olive bread.

We ate like (Italian) royalty, whilst listening to the Infinite Monkey Cage on the i player player.

And into the evening where there was yet more football for Scully and I to enjoy on the sofa.
