13 months to go

Today, the PM made a much-heralded speech at London's Mansion House in which it had been anticipated, for a change, would contain actual detail of what Britain wanted. No such luck, and quite frankly I am more than fed up in reporting what May says in speeches to her party and the British Press when she should be coming up with practical solutions that would be acceptable to Ireland, the EU and compatible with WTO rules, rather than her three basket nonsense she has been sprouting for two years now.

There was some movement, a little clarity, but its still unicorns for everyone, wanting benefits of membership without the responsibility of actually being a member. Like wanting to leave the gym, but return to use the pool, spa, sauna. Just for old times sake.

We are leaving the EU, SM and CU she said, but still wanting as frictionless as possible borders with the EU. Only way that is going to happen, as the WTO has said, is to be in a or the CU with the EU. Most of the press just accepted it, but Sky News and Peston did ask tricky questions, one which she should have been asked for the last two years, and she dodged them, as there is no answer.

Questions like, if it is shown that staying in the SM is best for British People and Economy, would she back staying? Only thing she says will make her judgement are some random "tests" she came up with late last night.

Nothing has changed, and frankly, me typing the same shit day after day, week after week, month after month is not going to change things.

May's speech: more cake, more baskets and more unicorns.
