Two days ago, PM-elect, Johnson, declared in a speech that EU rules meant that kippers sent by post (I kid you not) have to have an ice filled plastic bag with the product to comply with EU laws.
In short, this was the worse case of the EU laws over-arching into UK law, so that the UK would prosper outside the EU and could have our own laws.
The best.
And its not even true.
There is no EU law governing how kippers (other smoked fish are available) are sent through the post. This is UK legislation.
And this is good, as such an ice bag would help preserve the fish, as you don't want to eat rancid fish! One thing I do know about is food poisoning, I have a diploma in that. Honest.
So, Johnson lied again. Shock.
Meanwhile, moderate Tories are now getting behind Johnson in the hope they get appointed to his cabinet. And it seems likely that DD will get a post. Maybe as a door stop. But on the other hand, Minister for Chaos, Chris Grayling will lose his post.
