And last full day in Denmark, and like most other work days; get up, get dressed, have breakfast, drive to the office, work, drive back, listen to some music, go for dinner, call home and to bed.
That's the short version.
Tuesday was when the weather was supposed to improve, as it has been cool and breezy for a week now, cool enough to need a jacket on, and the only one I have is the day-glo reflective one I need for going onto site.
At the office there are just those of us on operations, as most staff have gone on two or three week vacation. Every year I am astanounded that an international company at its busiest time allows this, and every year the same.
At least it means we can get a desk to work.
I am now caught up so much that I can react and respond to mails in minutes now, just like it was in the early days of the project, meaning it feels we are in control, and for the most part we are.
Out in the yard the number of components shrinks week on week, as the project installs more and more turbines. In 26 months the project has gone from something on paper to reality, and soon will be producing power.
Green energy.
Which is good.
At four I am done again, so go back to the hotel for a shower and get changed as there is another team meal planned. Well, I planned it.
We meet in the lobby at six for the twenty minute walk up to the football stadium to the best steak restaurant in town, Butchers. We have a table booked, but the place is almost empty on a Tuesday night.
We have a table for five, order steaks each, and a new colleague and I share a bottle of cheeky Italian red.
Steaks come in twenty minutes, just perfect timing, and are great. We toast our fortune, and jobs that we are able to do this stuff.
Afterwards we decline the offer of a lift to wander back to the hotel, stretch our legs and work some of dinner off.
Last night in Denmark.
Home tomorrow.
