I go to the bathroom, but sleep would not return, so I am up ten minutes later.
Cats are fed, coffee made, and at least its a slow start to the morning, before we leave for the gym at ten to seven.
Not many people about at the sports centre, we sign in and go upstairs, where we were among the first half dozen in. We take our seats and begin peddalling.
It was a "long" session, so fifty minutes done, the first thirty dragged, but once over halfway, it wasn't so bad.
The price of petrol is getting silly, thanks to the orange Shitgibbon, so we drive to Richborough where for petrol stations vie for who has the lowest prices. We saved 3p a litre, which may have saved less than the amount of fuel it cost to drive there.
We came back by Deal and Walmer, stopping off at The Corner Café, and having a big breakfast, the first I think since the beginning of August.Naughty but nice.
And then back home for a morning of admin and number crunching.
Come midday, time for a shower, then have lunch before there is football on.
I watch half of the early game, then all of the Manc derby, which was pretty dull, though enlivened by a red card for Foden and ten man Citeh winning thanks to the Boy Haarland.
Time then to switch over for the final stage of La Vuelta, which was around Grenada, and was a procession for all bar the last thirty KM, and the last nine, the main group did not race, leaving the sprinters to battle out who would win the stage.
Meanwhile, the GC riders paraded round, with Movistar last to finish with red jersey wearer, Enric Mas, arm in arm with his team mates. A Spanish rider and a Spanish team tiumphant.
Not as enjoyable as Le Tour, for scenery, but the racing was incredible.
