In a Policy Exchange publication Lord Frost wrote the following, among other lies:
“without regard to huge political, economic & identity sensitivities” in NI & “.. has destroyed cross-community consent in NI”. Enforcement of Protocol “has begun to damage”
I can't stress how the opposite of what actually has happened in Brexit.
Had the EU reached out to both communities in NI, you can be sure that May or Johnson would have accused the EU if meddling in UK politics. In fact it was the UK's responsibility to get policital agreement from all four nations and ensure that such legislation could pass through Parliament.
Literal "good faith".
And yet Brexit was forced on Scotland and Northern Ireland, even after both countries voted to remain in the EU. The UK Government under Johnson then did not seek to obtain agreement from either the Scottish Parliament or the NI Assembly, as convention under the UK constitution demanded.
The UK Government was warned by former Prime Ministers that dabling in the very arrangements that brought peace to NI was dangerous and played with unleashing forces that had been dormant for a quarter of a century.
This morning a bus was hi-jacked and set on fire, the day the DUP set as a deadline for scrapping the NIP.
It is Johnson and Frost who must shoulder the responsibility of whatever comes after this now, they played with fire, now, covered in gasoline, we wait to see the pyre lit.
