The environmentally unfriendly Brexit

The UK is currently hosting COP26, and the Prime Minister, when he can stay awake, made a keynote speech.

But should we believe him? Obviously not, but one thing that occurred to me regarding green credentials and Brexit is:

Trading with your closest neighbours in high volume is as environmenally friendly as it gets. So, with climate change becoming a bigger and bigger issue, deciding to switch from a green model of trade to one that increases carbon emmissions by 80% doesn't seem to be the wisest choice.

But then such uncomfortable truths have never really bothered Johnson or his Governent.

Quite how large volumes of lamb and wine from New Zealand and Australia, shipped or flown literally halfway round the globe can be a serious alternative to trading with the EU can be taken seriously, is beyond me.

It is insane.

It is Brexit.
