The inevitable is coming

Today, Austria announced a national lockdown for ten days, with a vaccingmadate for February.

The rest of Europe is seeing a surge in cases, and country after country starts to take action to prevent COVID.

Meanwhile, in UK, COVID is barely mentioned now.

And yet, yesterday there were 46,807 new cases and 199 deaths. Far higher than it was a year ago and we had locked down for the second time then.

We have vaccines, and boosters are bing rolled out, we get ours today, but the increases are alarming, as is the indifference of the Government and the media.

The NHS is still stretched to near breaking point, and COVID patients take up huge amounts of resources, and patients with outher issues are denied treatment. Thousands die either waiting for an ambulance or on trollies waiting for care upon admittance.

It is horrible, and yet no one is talking about it.

It is going to be a long hard winter, which I believe I have said before.

Be careful out there.

Wear a mask.
