There must be some misunderstanding

Through the whole Brexit process, from form before the referendum, the major Brexiteers, to a man (or woman) have failed to understand anything about the processes that have to be followed.

The UK is at the point where some kind of deal on a WA might be reached. Which is something.

But if there is to be an agreed WA then a huge tranche of UK domestic legislation has to be changed, all before the 31st October. The start of the month was too late, and certainly 16th of October is too late. And so even if something could be agreed, an extension would have to be sought to allow that to happen.

Johnson nor any Brexiteers have admitted that.

Then there is how the EU works: they were not going to sign up to something drawn up on the back of a fag packet, its every detail would have to be gone over to ensure compliance with EU laws, and that all EU27 could agree to it.

Another reason for an extension.

And there is the obvious thing, that Johnson was going to have to break one of his promises. In the end it was the customs border in the Irish Sea, meaning the DUP were sold down the river. Johnson will throw bucketfulls of cash at Arline, but it amounts to the same, the reddest of red lines for the DUP has to be broken for Brexit.

Understandable if it was a good idea, but its not.

Chances of the UK leaving the EU on 31st October: slip to zero.
