The return of May

In recent months, former PM, Theresa May, has been a vocal oponent of the Government, at least until the Division Bell rings.

She now has a book to sell, and is painting her as some kind od benevolent leader.

In fairness, she has admitted she made mistakes with the "hostile environment" for immigrants, but it is her saying today that the UK would be in a better place if her Cabinet, Party and Parliament had voted for her Brexit deal.

Which is tosh.

It was May herself who defined Brexit as meaning leaving the Single Market and Customs Union, and that definition is what remained evven after she had left. It would have been the hardest of Brexits still.

No, the main difference was her "backstop" which would have kicked in if an when things went wrong in NI, wheras Johnson had his "frontstop" which kicked in from day 1.

May was a dreadful PM and had not Johnson, Triss and Sunak have followed, she would be considered one of the three worst PMs of all time.

Her faiure to unite her Party, Parliament and the country lead to forcing Johnson onto us and his botched Brexit, his lies and then tens of thousands of more people died during COVID than needed to.

But alls fair in love and war when theres a book to sell, eh?
