Thursday 31st August 2023

Last day of August and maybe the last day of summer.

It was a usual day in Chez Jelltex. There was coffee, breakfast, cats and work. Sometimes in that order.

Any hope of work outside once work was over was dashed by forecast of 18 hours of rain and drizzle from midday, which did arrive on time and continue, leading to it being dark before its time.

Thursday morning That being said, it did mean doing some stuff around the house, but only after work overran by 90 minutes as I was waiting for a return phone call. That didn't come.

I went out to the street in the morning during a coffee break, and saw that the lavender was stull full of bees and wasps, not as many as on a sunny day, but a large number anyway.

Two hundred and forty three The rain came after lunch, sheets of drizzle drifting in from the west. It'll do the garden good, I suppose, so instead I listen to a podcast and prepare Caprese for dinner, not that that took much time.

It was getting dark at seven, due to the rain, fox/badger food put out and so we locked the doors, closed the curtains and went upstairs to read at half seven.

Rock and roll.
